Omega L2 BLAST
Cosworth's Omega L2 BLAST product was developed to accurately measure, understand and respond to real-world vehicle IED events.
Patent pending technology is used to accurately determine the size of a blast, location on the vehicle, the energy transferred to the vehicle and occupants, the vehicle kinematics (i.e. "how it moves"), and predictions of vehicle integrity, chassis twist, and injury to the occupants such as lower limb, spine, neck and head injuries.
Cosworth's blast logger range is a four-box system. Installations vary, with standard installation in the four corners of a vehicle cab. Download, analysis and exploitation software comes as standard.
Analysis derived from this data will enable vehicle manufacturers and operators to make improvements to the design and operation of these vehicles, leading to a reduction in casualties, increased availability and lower costs.
Key Features
Rugged and robust
Our systems have been tested against threats well in excess of any current NATO STANAG requirements. What's more, they are reusable, ready for the next challenge.
High fidelity
Sample speeds from 1-20kHz depending on sensor type ensure we detect and collect all the necessary data to understand the event.
Data assured
Sensors and recording in one intelligent pack to protect against loss of data in the event that power or data connections are disrupted.
Reduced data burden
We specialise in data reduction techniques. Our system provides real-time data evaluation for rapid summary and reduced processing time from weeks to seconds if required.
Vehicle blast history
We log a history of blast events with the vehicle, allowing the life and integrity of the vehicle to be assessed.
RTA functionality included
Our system also records Road Traffic Accident events such as general vehicle impacts and roll-over.
