To support our ongoing business, we are now recruiting for a Senior Engineer to join our F1 Business Unit.

Main purpose of the position is to support the F1 Operations Manager in the day to day to day management of the F1 Business Unit, in order to sustain Cosworth's long term, profitable business interests in Formula One.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Representing Cosworth in top level meetings with our Customers to discuss fault resolution, development programmes and chassis installations
  • Driving through engineering changes in a quick, effective, cost effective manner, both in a supervisory role, and directly
  • Developing the engineering fault resolution and rectification process
  • Ensuring that all engines meet or exceed all performance and reliability expectations
  • Attending race and test events if required to oversee engineering change
  • Developing strong customer relationships with key technical staff
  • Sharing responsibility for managing the F1 engineering budget, ensuring best use of resources
  • Producing quotes for customer teams relating to the provisional of additional engineering services
 

Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Degree qualified in a suitable engineering discipline (2:1 or better)
  • 5+ years experience in racing engine mechanical design/development
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent decision maker
  • Excellent communicator
  • Well organised
  • Usual Microsoft skill sets
  • Unigraphics
  • SAP knowledge would be useful
  • Strong work ethic with a recognition of the personal dedication needed to succeed in the F1 industry.
